Still Life with Pear Painting
5″ x 7“, Oil on Canvas, 2020
by Charles C. Clear III
This is the first and only Pear that I ever painted. I painted it right after my Still Life with Apple painting. It’s a quick study, but painting it was a lot more challenging than I anticipated. Apparently Pears have many nuances of color that you don’t really see or appreciate until you try to paint them. Capturing these colors can be difficult, especially in a small painting. Moral of the story: Don’t Paint Pears!
My Still Life with Pear painting was quickly acquired by a collector in Northern Rhode Island.
