Seagull Perched Seascape Painting

Seagull Perched on a rock is a common sight in Narragansett, Rhode Island. They seem to be everywhere! Their presence and their unique call are part of the whole experience of being by the ocean.
At the Fishermen’s Memorial State Park, between the Harbor Refuge and the Point Judith Lighthouse, a single large boulder rests in the breakwater. Every visit reveals a lone seagull perched at the peak, holding court for passerby. Draw closer and he will eye you suspiciously, but he is not inclined to fly away. Perhaps, like me, he is entranced by the music of the sea: The small waves create a perpetual rhythm of tumble, break, and hiss, and nearby the water retreating over a large bed of small stones produce the sweet sound of seaside maracas. There is music in the air, and beauty at every turn.
The Harbor Refuge and its surrounding areas has been my inspiration for many seascape paintings, including ‘Ocean Rocks’, ‘Rocky Shore’, and ‘Point Judith’, just to name a few.
The Seagull Perched Seascape Painting is available, as are Fine art prints and poster art reproductions. Contact me for more information.
